H O M E aims at questioning the notion of everyday life and the doubts, fears and satisfactions related to it. We want to focus on the moment of realization of one's own habits. And on the ways that sudden awareness affects and redefines human relationships according to its nature.

Work here is centered on different body rhythms and deliberately wants to disembody the dancers on stage. Taking inspiration from movie directors such as Martin Arnold and Peter Kubelka and their work on the notions of repetition and accident, we use physical cut-up, presenting bodies physically stuttering in an attempt to render vision delusive. This dance is an attempt at reorganizing a perception of time by means of movement. Movement here is radical in its execution, it can take up the whole stage or reduce itself to the almost imperceptible. And it's that exercise of permanent oscillation which interests me here.

Movement is precise, rhythmical and necessary for the dancers. In a more practical way, the aim is to go and work with what's in-between movement, what's in-between two actions.

Né  en 1987, Paul Changarnier est originaire de Normandie. Élève des  conservatoires de Saint Valéry en Caux puis Rouen, c’est au CNSMD de  Lyon, entre 2009 et 2014, qu’il poursuit sa formation à la percussion.  Il est lauréat du Concours International de Percussion de Cannes en 2010  et de la fondation Yamaha Music Europe en 2013. 

​Membre  fondateur de l’Ensemble TaCTuS avec qui il crée VISAGES, Dédale(s), Les  Varations Golderg (label Skarbo), Timber. il est également musicien du  Trio SR9 depuis 2010, aux côtés de Nicolas Cousin et Alexandre Esperet.  En 2012, le Trio SR9 est lauréat du Concours International de Percussion  du Luxembourg, et obtient le Premier Prix, le Prix du Public et le Prix  d’interprétation. Le Trio SR9 crée ensuite les spectacles Machine(s),  Corporels et Jukebox (2019), et enregistre deux albums sur le label  Naïve : Bach au marimba et Alors, on danse ? 

En  2010, Paul Changarnier découvre la danse contemporaine, un langage  nouveau, inspirant. S’ensuivent des collaborations avec les chorégraphes  Sandrine Maisonneuve (2011), Yuval Pick (No play hero, 2012) et Maud Le  Pladec (Democracy, 2013). Il co-fonde le Collectif A/R en 2012, avec  les danseurs Thomas Demay et Julia Moncla avec qui il crée les  spectacles États des Lieux (2012) et L’homme de la rue (2018).

En  2017, il dirige avec le collectif A/R sa première recherche  chorégraphique,  h o m e et poursuit en 2020 avec la création everything  is temporary.

Paul  Changarnier est membre fondateur de Dog Food, un laboratoire  d’expérimentations sonores, en duo avec le vibraphoniste David  Fourdrinoy ou en solo pour ses propres réalisations. 

En  2019, il assure la direction musicale et la composition musicale de  Encore la vie (2019), pièce pour 4 jongleurs et 4 musiciens avec le  Collectif Petit Travers et l’Ensemble Tactus. En 2020, il co-écrit le  prochain spectacle de l’Ensemble Tactus, RESET avec Quentin Dubois.

Il  parcourt ainsi la France, l’Europe et les quatre coins du monde (USA,  Japon, Australie…) entre concerts, spectacles et master classes.
