La Danse hip-hop, une technique maîtrisée

La Danse hip-hop, une technique maîtrisée

La danse hip-hop, une technique maîtrisée

As an introduction, a conversation in a café to situate the first experiences. Everything then takes place in the Ménagerie de Verre in Paris where Junior Almeïda, Gabin Nuissier and other members of Aktuel Force and the Boogies Lockers show, in a few chapters, the development and maturity of a dance style that has both made its mark and evolved. A meticulous definition of a gestural language, with its codes, vocabulary and musical influences. Mohamed Athamna and his accomplices, assisted by Bernard Kech, a movement analysis instructor, set out on a journey with a didactic purpose, which is both an initiation and a search. In slow motion style, this film takes the form of demonstrations that focus on the detail and quality of movement, while also describing its origins. Top-rock, hop-rock and its 3-step or 6-step pass-pass, top-dance and its tetris, smurf, locking, all forms that digested the dances of the 1970s such as the jerk, the funky chicken or the bus stop, break dance and its animal figures such as the scorpion, the spider, the caterpillar or the lame duck and which originated in the martial arts... All these terms referring to dance styles or special figures have, as their performance watch words, speed and precision, preceded by a long warm-up. Designed by the association Hypnose for the transmission of hip hop, this film shows all the richness and diversity of this dance form.

Meeting with literature

Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
