To mark the 30th annual Eurockéennes Festival in Belfort, VIADANSE – Centre chorégraphique national de Bourgogne Franche-Comté à Belfort (National Choreographic Centre of Burgundy and Franche-Comté in Belfort – CCN Belfort) invited 18 choreographers, representing the wide diversity in the field of choreography. The film director Nicolas Habas followed them on the natural site of Malsaucy, from the beginning of the preparations for the festival, and throughout it to the end. The choreographers took part in all that happened, everywhere it happened (stages, technical storage management areas, traffic routes, crowds of audiences, backstage…) resulting in danced portrayals that documented in a recreational manner the impressive machinery needed to bring about the event.

Trained at the National Superior School of Dance in Marseille, then in contemporary dance at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Lyon, Julien Gallée-Ferré followed in 2001 the Ex.e.r.c.e training from the Center Chorégraphique National de Montpellier. He then danced in the company of Mathilde Monnier.
He is now a major performer of Maud Le Pladec's works. A charismatic performer, he has carried the work of the choreographer with flying colors since its inception.

Le Pladec, Maud
After completing the Ex.e.r.ce training at CCN Montpellier, Maud Le Pladec performs for several choreographers such as Georges Appaix, Emmanuelle Vo-Dinh, Loïc Touzé, Mathilde Monnier, Herman Diephuis, Mette Ingvartsen and Boris Charmatz. In 2010, she created her first piece Professor, choreographic piece for three performers on the music of Fausto Romitelli. In 2011, she created Poetry second part of a diptych around Fausto Romitelli. In 2012, she initiated To Bang on a Can, a research and creation project with three pieces and various artistic projects over four years (2012-2015). Ominous Funk and Demo, around and from the musical work of composers David Lang and Julia Wolfe, will be the starting point of this long-term project.
In 2013, Maud Le Pladec is a laureate of the Hors les Murs program at the Institut français and is conducting a research in New York on the current of post-minimalist American music. From this research came the creation of Democracy, a piece for five dancers and four drums (Ensemble TaCtuS) and Concrete (2015), a major project conceived for five dancers and nine musicians from Ensemble Ictus. In 2015, Maud Le Pladec was invited by the Lille Opera to collaborate on the creation of the 5 Xerse Opera (Cavalli / Lully, directed by Guy Cassiers, musical direction Emmanuelle Haïm / Concert d'Astrée). That same year, she initiated a new cycle of creations around the word given to women by co-creating Hunted with New York performer Okwui Okpokwasili.
Her works have been awarded with several prizes and distinctions: prize of the choreographic revelation of the Syndicate of the French critic in 2009, prize Garden of Europe in 2010, Knight of the order of arts and letters in 2015.
In 2016, she worked at the Opéra National de Paris on Eliogabalo (Francesco Cavalli) with director Thomas Jolly and under the musical direction of Leonardo Garcia Alarcon. At the same time, Maud Le Pladec is an associate artist at La Briqueterie – CDCN in the Val de Marne and continues to dance in the plays of Boris Charmatz (Levée des conflits, Enfant, Manger, 10000 gestes). Since January 2017, she succeeds Josef Nadj and directs theCentre chorégraphique national d'Orléans.
She created Moto-Cross (The Subsistances / Biennale Val de Marne), Je n'ai jamais eu envie de disparaître with the author Pierre Ducrozet as part of Concordan(s)e festival and Borderline in collaboration with the director Guy Cassiers, presented at Festival d’Avignon. In 2018, she created her last piece Twenty-Seven Perspectives, performance for 10 dancers built around Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony. In May 2020, she will create a new piece with for CCN - Ballet de Lorraine: Static shot.

Habas, Nicolas
Nicolas Habas comes from cinema first, as a screenwriter and director of several short fiction films including Le mal de Claire, broadcast on French TV and documentaries (La parole en chantier, triptych on a popular neighborhood in urban renewal). He is very interested in the tensions between reality and the imaginary, society and intimacy, geography and territories. With a self-taught apprenticeship that led him to a deep understanding of the codes of the film industry, he decided to find «his» cinema and returned with Le Corps de la Ville, the web series anchored in dance, to his first loves, since he made his first dance video in 1998. Shot during the 30° Eurockéennes de Belfort Festival and Broadcast on Arte Concert, Mouvements is its second web series.

Le festival des Eurockéennes de Belfort
True to its spirit of eternal youth, the festival has not aged at the dawn of its fourth decade and once again stands out as the mirror of its time, retaining its place among the great historic European musical gatherings … Since 1989, there have already been 1,777 concerts with claimed eclecticism, having pleased almost 2,813,000 festival-goers, of all ages, all backgrounds and all nationalities! This social mix and diversity of abundant styles, gathered in the hollow of a green cocoon, a little parenthesis out of time, are each year synonymous with shared emotions and beautiful encounters. A festive communion with respect for nature, faithful to the solidarity commitments of a 100% associative festival and all of its partners, communities and local associations.
VIADANSE - Direction Fattoumi-Lamoureux - CCN de Bourgogne Franche-Comté à Belfort
The Centre Chorégraphique National de Franche-Comté in Belfort (CCNFCB) is a space dedicated to contemporary creation. The French CCN label (National Choreographic Center) was established in 1984.
Currently there are 19 of these National Choreographic Centers in France.
Since March 2015, the Centre chorégraphique national de Franche-Comté in Belfort has been directed by Héla Fattoumi and Éric Lamoureux, for which they created the project VIADANSE.
Their project VIADANSE is laid in the prospect of a 3rd generation choregraphic center, revolving around a dynamic concept highlighting the circulation of projects and the building of networks, from Franche-Comté to Burgundy ; from the Grand Est to Switzerland and Europe.
