My Way

In memory of my years at the Jeune ballet, My Way takes a cathartic form and offers the choreographic artists of the Jeune ballet to immerse themselves in an experience that is as individual as it is collective.

Julliard, Rubén

Born in 1991 in Puy-en-Velay, he trained as a  dancer at the Cannes Dance School, Rosella Hightower, as well as at the  CNSMD in Lyon under the direction of Jean Claude Ciappara. From 2009 to  2011, he joined the Cannes Jeune Ballet of Paola Cantalupo. Following  his participation at the Monaco Dance Forum, he obtained an  apprenticeship contract with the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal  under the direction of Gradimir Pankov in July 2011. He was subsequently  appointed Demi-Soloist in 2013 and Soloist in 2015. He joined then the  National Theater Mannheim under the direction of Stephan Thoss for the  2018/19 season.
Main roles: Nutcracker (Grand pas de deux, Prince) by Fernand Nault,  Rêve (lead role) by Stephan Thoss, The Little Prince (title role) by  Didy Veldman, Keguyahime (solo # 1) by Jiří Kylián, Minus one  (Passonmezzo, Black Milk) by Ohad Naharin, Romeo & Juliette  (Benvolio) by Jean- Christophe Maillot…
He joined the OnR Ballet in August 2019 as a soloist.

From an early age he developed a great interest in choreography. He  signs several creations for the young choreographers programs at the  Grands Ballets Canadiens. In Germany he participates in the  Choreografische Werkstatt program with “What If”. At the Opera national  du Rhin, he choreographed movement VII of La Gran Partita, in 2019, and  signed AMADÉ, a creation for Danser Mozart au XXI e siècle in December  2020. He was also invited to create a duet for the Theater Basel in May  2020, unfortunately canceled following the Covid19 pandemic.

Rubén also uses his passion for electronic music composition to develop his choreographic signature.-
Composition for choreographies: What If, Emergency, Give me a minute, Emergency and parts of Amadé.

Rubén Julliard has the ambition to share his works around the world.  While dancing with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, National Theater  Mannheim and currently Opera National du Rhin, Julliard started his  choreographic career.

His works have been performed in « young choreographer » programs and  most recently commissioned for the season program of Opera National du  Rhin in 2020. As a dancer/ choreographer he develops his choreographic  vocabulary and creates a strong connection between his choreography and  the curent trends of the dance world.

He co-founded and is artistic director of NEST, a company created to  develop and help aspiring choreographers from Opera National du Rhin. He  also created SOLMA dance company in march 2022.

Parallel to his work as a choreographer and artistic director  Julliard has developed his skills as music producer, composing new music  is a key component that makes his creations distinctive. Throughout his  choreographic creations Rubén Julliard continues to explore and refine  his understanding on every side of the production from set/costume  design to lighting/technical aspects.
