Tam Tam
In the form of homage to the Senegalese choreographer and anthropologist Féral Benga, of which dreamed was, in the Thirties, to create a made up company African dancers, Tam Tam endeavours to recreate the universe of the artist without telling his story. And one feels and one tests heat. The undulation of the bodies lets the spectator taste with the influences of the African traditional dances. Four dancers draw space curves like infinite caresses, sensual movements of hips and wrists. James Carlès, despised territories and borders, it nourishes his work of the meeting of the languages of the body, Tam Tam is also an original musical production starting from works of Erik Satie.

Benga, Féral
François Benga, called Féral: Born in Dakar in 1906, his childhood is divided between his wealthy paternal family, in contact with the colonial administration, and his maternal family, known for their activities as traditional healers. These origins are important because they are associated with particular cultural forms that will later feed his creations. As a young adult he tries his luck in Paris. He learns that the music hall is seeking Black extras and lands his first contract at the Folies-Bergère. Along his career he encounters numerous celebrities, such as Jean Cocteau, with whom he works on the famed Blood of a Poet in 1930. His projects however suffer from a lack of funds and he has trouble getting the public to appreciate his creations. He marries a paternal cousin who gives him a son in 1955, but dies shortly after, in 1957 in Chateauroux.
