Body Concert

Structured like a concert, this 10-act performance aims to transcend  the limits of human body and dance, evoking deep emotions in the  audience. Through the power of dance and music, it takes us on a journey  to a new destination.

The exuberant opening act creates an electric atmosphere, while the  dynamic and engaging performance of the dancers towards the end leaves  the audience captivated, suggesting new meanings and values of dance.

Since its debut in Seoul’s Arko Arts Theater in 2010, Body Concert  has become one of the most frequently staged programmes, and has been  described as an ideal introduction to contemporary dance for the general  public. It has also received critical acclaim, winning the 2010 Best  Performance Award at Critics’ Choice. Following its successful  international tour, the show has confirmed its potential for global  appeal.

Boram, Kim

Born in Korea, Boram Kim entered into the field of contemporary dance  unconventionally. Working as a back-up dancer for 10 years, he began to  wonder about how dance speaks to the audience, and with passion and  ambition, he began to develop his own choreography.

Kim established his own dance company called “Ambiguous Dance  Company” in 2007. To Kim, creating dance works flushes out uncertainties  engrained within him. In the process of creating, stories and answers  to these uncertainties are existentially and inherently revealed. Kim  first begins this process by choosing music with which to work.  Interpreting the music, movements begin to take form in his mind,  intertwining with melodies and rhythms, like a shuttle weaving across a  loom.

Plasson, Fabien

Born in 1977, Fabien Plasson is a video director specialized in the field of performing arts (dance , music, etc).

During his studies at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Lyon (joined in 1995) Fabien discovered video art. He was trained by various video artists (Joel Bartoloméo Pascal Nottoli , Eric Duyckaerts , etc).
He first experimented with the creation of installations and cinematic objects.

From 2001 to 2011, he was in charge of Ginger & Fred video Bar’s programming at La Maison de la Danse in Lyon. He discovered the choreographic field and the importance of this medium in the dissemination, mediation and pedagogical approach to dance alongside Charles Picq, who was a brilliant video director and the director of the video department at that time.

Today, Fabien Plasson is the video director at La Maison de la Danse and in charge of the video section of Numeridanse.tv, an online international  video library, and continues his creative activities, making videos of concerts, performances and also creating video sets for live performances.

Belanger, Juliette

Juliette Belanger is a director and editor, mainly in the field of live performance (theater, dance, music, etc.).

It was during her first years of study in Métiers des Arts et de la Culture, which she began in Lille in 2018 and finished in Paris in 2021, that Juliette developed her skills and taste for images and video creation.

She soon became intrigued by the world of live performance, and her first professional experiences began in 2019. Between theater festivals, companies and other production associations, she discovers and defends the stakes of video for the dissemination of live performance. She completed her university studies in 2022, taking the Licence Professionnelle Techniques et Pratiques Artistiques du montage at Lyon II.

She discovered the world of dance in 2023, working with Fabien Plasson, video director at the Pôle Image de la Maison de la Danse.

Today, she produces and edits video footage of theater and dance performances for various festivals, companies and cultural events, while continuing to create various video content around the performing arts (reports on creations, artist portraits, etc.).

Ambiguous Dance Company

Ambiguous Dance Company was founded by choreographer Boram Kim and  dancer KyeongMin Jang in 2008. The name of the group describes the  “undefinable and ambiguous” characteristics of their dance style.  Escaping from genres and preconceptions, the group expresses what is in  their hearts through bodily movement and music. Rather than focusing on  delivering an artistic message or meaning, they intend to convey the  true nature and purity of humanity, believing that the bodily expression  of music and dance form the most accurate and truest language.

Meeting with literature

Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.

Dance and visual arts have often been inspiring for each other and have influenced each other. This Parcours can not address all the forms of their relations; he only tries to show the importance of plastic creation in some choreographies.
