[OUPS+OPUS]
Bérengère Fournier and Samuel Faccioli, the choreographers-performers of La Vouivre, evoke with poetry and humour, in the “[oups + opus]” diptych, the excitements and the small pleasures of a couple. Restricted in their clothes, their movements and their desires, they are at first surprised by the troublesome emotion of their accidental encounter in “[oups]”. Delicious naivety turning into encouraged caresses, their dance inspired by everyday gestures creates a sign language a touch unusual. Later, in the second part “[opus]” we discover them during the narrative of a day between tenderness and weariness, full of habits and futile memories. The soundtrack is created live and direct by a talented musician-improviser-fiddler, taking his lead from the dancers, their respiration, their voices, their steps. The duo fools around with the contrasts. Whether it be light-hearted, playful or solemn and incarnate, its mechanics of derision is, in itself, irrefutable.
Fournier, Berengere
Bérengère Fournier was born in 1977. In 2001, after four years of training at the conservatory in La Rochelle and with the Compagnie Coline in Istres, different companies crossed her path and left their traces: Kompani B.Valiente in Oslo, Norway, physical theatre, site-specific performances. Sylvain Groud, La Valise (street arts), Cie Contrepoint (Yan Raballand), Cie Beau Geste (Dominique Boivin), ARCAL (lyrical arts company).
In 2010, Bérengère continued performing for the Cie Beau Geste and the Cie Contrepoint. Today all of these artistic and human encounters continue to inspire her both as a performer and as co-choreographer at the company La Vouivre, founded with Samuel Faccioli in 2007.

La Vouivre
Artistic direction: Bérengère Fournier, Samuel Faccioli
Creation: 2007
In 2007, Fournier and Faccioli established their own company, La Vouivre, based in Auvergne in the Central Massif of France. Together they have developed a language, something between dance and theatre, to deliver a precise and musical script. Enriched by their differences, they create their own world, one that is poetic and mischievous.
