Boots Dance

Originally, this dance, created for male interpreters, was carried out by the black slaves who worked in the mines in South Africa. The part draws its name from the wellingtons which the dancers throughout the part carry, an accessory which brings a constant and heady noise to the unit. Frequently programmed at the time as of rounds, this dance was for American African in general and Walter Nicks in particular, the reflection of their existence.
