Le Bal des Intouchables
Le Bal des Intouchables
Le bal des intouchables
Under the big top, the show opens with a funny kind of introduction that augurs well for the notion of untouchable. In the course of the show, the artists reveal a whole symphony of possibles as they outwit anything that at first appears impossible. To begin with, the group forms a procession, then, little by little, each person delivers their score, escapes from the group, steals away to the heights, takes the risk of freedom and falling, to better return to the others with new gestures to offer.
The unique destiny of Antoine Rigot is at the centre of the piece, but this time with a new impetus, reboosted by this immersion within an artistic team expressing through solos, duos, trios and reunions, the features of vitality, malice, cruelty, dreams, failures, insolence, risk, virtuosity, generosity, wisdom…
Frequently burlesque, le Bal des intouchables introduces eight characters, young and old, light and disabled, agile and fragile. What is given is received, the fall is never far from the rise, success from solitude, and vice versa. Les Colporteurs have succeded in linking gesture to emotion and in evoking the mastery of art and the transmission of experience. The musicians participate fully in the overall dramaturgy, in turn players on the stage or accompanying the piece from the side. Their role is to help tighten a solid thread within the act.
This creation is the result of work around the discovery of oneself and others, and the attempt to assume the differences that govern, separate and bring us together. Freeing itself from all stereotypes, the show praises the chosen prowess and the poetry of slow gestures.

Les Colporteurs
In 1996, Agathe and Antoine, during the exploitation of Amore Captus, founded the company Les Colporteurs. With their accomplices at that time, they organised the construction of the big top they had always dreamt of and created their first show, Filao, inspired by Italo Calvino’s novel Il Barone Ramante (The Baron in the Trees). This show, which combines circus, theatre, dance and music, was performed 220 times between 1997 and 2000 in France and abroad. In 1999, the team of Les Colporteurs joined up with that of Les Nouveaux Nez to imagine, in the Ardèche region of France, what was to become La Cascade, Pôle National des Arts du Cirque (National Centre of Circus Arts), which opened its doors in Bourg-Saint-Andéol in April 2008.
In May 2000, Antoine was the victim of a serious accident that prevented him from continuing to tightrope dance. However, he resumed his work as an actor and a musician and began to stage performances.

In all the arts and here especially in dance, the artist sometimes creates to defend a cause, to denounce a fact, to disturb, to shock. Here is a panorama of some "committed" choreographic creations.

Collaboration between a choreographer and a writer can lead to the emergence of a large number of combinations. If sometimes the choreographer creates his dance around the work of an author, the writer can also choose dance as the subject of his text.
